If you find yourself being triggered by loud noises, it can take some time to release the learned fear response.
Just like any conditioned response, we can slowly re-condition ourselves and then gently choose a new way of responding. This happens with desensitizing the fear response (especially with something like tapping, which has been shown to quiet & extinguish the amygdala's response to once-threatening stimuli) and then with repeated exposure, literally teaching the brain that it is safe and no longer needs to mount such a large response.
By the end of this video, you might even be EXCITED for your next noise trigger as another chance to practice changing how your brain responds to once triggering events.
