I like to joke that guilt is a worthless emotion in the sense that it doesn't inspire us into action, but instead, spirals us into more feelings of shame, not-good-enough-ness, and even acting out of the assumption that we are not worthy.
Regardless of what triggered your feelings of guilt, it can be helpful to acknowledge the feeling, find it in the body, and truly learn to shift to more empowered states of thinking and feeling.
